Handling

Lyophilized

Also: Freeze-dried

Lyophilization (freeze-drying) removes water from a frozen solution under vacuum, leaving a dry powder. Most research peptides ship lyophilized because the dry form is far more stable than a solution and tolerates shipping and storage better.

A lyophilized peptide is typically kept frozen and protected from light and moisture until it is reconstituted for use.
