GIP
Also: Glucose-dependent Insulinotropic Polypeptide
GIP (glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide) is an incretin hormone that, like GLP-1, participates in glucose and metabolic signaling. Its receptor is a target in metabolic research.
Some studied compounds engage both the GLP-1 and GIP receptors at once (dual agonists), and others add glucagon-receptor activity as well (triple agonists), to examine combined metabolic pathways.
