GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) is an incretin hormone involved in glucose regulation and appetite signaling. Its receptor is a central target in metabolic research, and several studied compounds are GLP-1 receptor agonists.

Newer research molecules combine GLP-1 activity with other receptors — for instance GIP (a dual agonist) or GIP plus glucagon (a triple agonist) — to study broader metabolic effects.
