Glucagon

Glucagon is a hormone that raises blood glucose and influences energy expenditure. Its receptor is the third target engaged by so-called triple agonists in metabolic research, alongside GLP-1 and GIP.

Combining glucagon activity with the two incretin receptors is a way to study broader effects on metabolism than a single-receptor compound.
