Half-Life
Half-life is the time it takes for the concentration of a compound to decrease to half of its starting value. A longer half-life means the molecule persists longer before clearing.
In research, half-life helps explain how frequently a compound is examined in a study design and how modifications to a peptide (such as those that resist enzymatic breakdown) change how long it stays intact.
